PC Magazine gave it a good review.

Also, using it has markedly improved the performance of 2 of my Win 98
computers that use the internet a lot. In both cases the computers had
become almost un-useable due to continuous pop-ups and switching from the
URL that was desired to an advertising URL.

In both cases, the computers have an anti-virus program running, but were
incompatible with Norton's Internet suite, which may include some of the
same features as Spybot (but I'm not sure about that).

So, magazine reviews and actual experience make me think some program like
these are needed if one is on the internet a lot.

One experiment I do intend to do is to run one spybot-type program and then,
before going back on-line, the other to see if these programs are,
themselves, putting garbage on in the computer. Nothing would surprise me
in this regard.
