New web site.

New web site.

2003-10-14 by Richard Smallfield

I've just finished a mammoth project - building a website for world-class photographer, Keith Money. He's best known for his ballet photography, having produced four books on Margot Fonteyn, but that's only been part of his photographic work.

I would be interested in feedback on the site - comments, problems, suggestions.

The URL is: http://www.fairprospect.co.nz/photographer/

I'm sure there will be something to interest any photographer, as his work is diverse.

(Digital BW content: he's abandoned the darkroom and now outputs all his work on an Epson 1200 and 2000. :) )

thanks,
Richard

Richard,

The site is well layed out, reads well, no problems accessing any
portion of it and the pictures are quite pleasing to return to.

1. Each image should have dimentions to keep things
from bouncing around.

2. Use the PhotoShop "Save for Web" feature to
optimize file sizes.

Otherwise, looks great.

very nice website that functions well with good material. My only
comment is that it is the only website I've ever seen that breaks up
the photographer's last name on the home page into two parts and puts
them on separate lines... at least that's how it appeared on my
browser at work. seems like the word Money could be kept intact
without too much trouble.

Looks good except:
When I go to the Galleries, there is a row of thumbnails on the left
but I can only see about half of them because the space is too narrow.

I am viewing with windows IE6 on a 21" monitor set to 1600x1200. I
can widen the frame on the right but can't change the frame on the
left.

Me again,
I just discovered that the problem I just spoke of goes away when all
of the thumbnails are loaded. If any don't load for some reason, they
all stay too far to the right to show more than about half of each.

Hi,
thanks for alerting me about the problem with the cover page. I take it you are using a large font size. I'll change it to a fixed-size so that it remains the same size regardless of the browser setting.

Hi,
I should have fixed the problem now - can you please have a look and let me know? (I made the titles a fixed size.)

thanks,
Richard

It's better but still not right. The entire name except for the "y"
is on the top line . The "y" at the end of Money is one line below so
it reads:
Mone
y
