Assuming you had a chance to subscribe, hitting "my groups" will bring you
back to a list that includes this group, no matter how Martin truncates the URL.
Just a tip to all who found their way back by fumbling in the dark for a while.

The subscription mails make it through by both titles - would it be
possible to have both groups, with the original name being a big
NOTICE pointer to the new name?

The only problem that I had was that it fouled my filter.

Tim,

I know. Sorry for the confusion. At the moment I am leaving things
the way they were. I want this "party" to still be where I said would
be when I invited people to join.

I think that I see an opportunity to shorten the message header but I
want to check it out carefully, and send out a pre announcement
before I try the change. It will once again mess up your, and
everyone's, message filters. If it is workable without changing the
URL it will probably be better to do it now when the list membership
is still small (but growing nicely!)

The root problem on the current e-mail address for the group is that
in setting up the group on Yahoo the "Group Name" field really isn't
the group name that is used in the e-mail address or the URL. The
value in the "E-mail Address" field is used for the URL. Go figure.

Any expert advice in this area please let me know, but let's take it
off line since I can't quite fit "confused first time list owner"
into the group topic.

Thanks,
Martin

Move to quarantaine
