Oriental fiber inkjet papers AVAILABLE at B+H

Oriental fiber inkjet papers AVAILABLE at B+H

2003-10-20 by sandersm@aol.com

Oriental hasn't officially released their new coated fibre paper yet --
they're announcing it at the PhotoPlus Expo next weekened. BUT they've already
shipped it to B+H so they would be fully stocked for the Expo, and B+H has put
it on sale now.

The paper is marketed as Oriental Graphica FB Glossy, and is available in
81/2 x 11 and 13x19 sizes. I bought a package of both sizes in B+H's store in
Manhattan this evening; it is also available for purchase on B+H's website
(www.bhphotovideo.com). I asked Yossi, the department manager, how much they had
in stock, and he said they had taken delivery of a pretty big shipment, and
shouldn't run out soon.

I know a lot of people on this list have been eagerly awaiting the debut of
this paper. Don't ask me how it prints -- I just got it, and now I have to
figure out how to print it using QTR on my 2200. (Being new to QTR, I am open
to all suggestions in this respect.) I'll post more when I have something
useful to contribute.

According to Robert Morrison's July posting it was going to be
available in wider roll as well? Any news on roll availability?

Sanders,

thanks for the (pre)announcement!

I don't know if this will help you, but there is already a profile for this paper and
OPM in our group files. I know OPM is officially only for OS 9, but if you have a
dual boot Mac, it may be easier to try that for now. The OS X version is in beta.
