Hi Paul,

In my experience with UT inks in my 1160 I actually had the most clogging
issues with the grays cartridge. The Eboni black never seemed to be an
issue. But, as you say I think it's a humidity issue and, maybe, related to
the manufacturing disparities within each unit.

I finally cleared the clogs in my 1200 last night using month old 
Epson carts which I had sealed with scotch tape and saran wrap.  It 
took a while -- five or six cleaning cycles with the Epson carts (I 
ran a pruge print after the first three) and five or six more with 
the new MIS VM carts -- but it seems to have worked.  I am not sure 
of the "shelf life" of resealed Epson carts, but it is nice to know 
that they can be used more than once to unclog the printer.  I am 
going to try to print a nozzle check once a day when I can and see if 
that helps.  The MIS carts I had to discard were only four weeks old.

The strange thing is that the first six or eight months I printed 
with the 1200 and MIS VM inks I did not have a clogging problem even 
when I left the printer for over a week.  Clogs appeared during the 
summer in Philly.  I like the results with the VM inks and the Roark 
curves and would really like to find a way to stick with them.  But 
not if I have to spend this much time on clogs regularly.
