I guess we can expect Epson to standardize on eight carts, to avoid wasting
so much ink switching between the two blacks. And it's also nice to see the
6.29 femtohogshead drop size. ;-)

Hi

It is interesting to see the bit about the new red and blue inks

This was suggested to me as a feature of the Epson 4000 before it was
released <http://northlight-images.co.uk/epson4000.html> but after the
actual announcement it seemed wrong until...

"... In addition to the traditional cyan, magenta and yellow inks, the Epson
UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink set also includes new red and blue inks to create a
Hi-Fi ink set that expands the color gamut. The color gamut for the Epson
UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink on glossy paper is up to 22% larger than ink jet
printers with standard cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink sets."

Maybe this new ink set will be available in time for the 4000 (or 7/8 of it
for the 7600 :-))

bye for now
