To all IP 5.6 users on this list,

If you've ever tried to drop a 16-bit grayscale file--saved in PS with .psd extension--onto the main IP layout window and IP totally obliterates the image (no image details), Daniel Barrett of ColorByte has confirmed that this is a bug and has been passed on to their programmers for resolution.

I discovered this very shortly after installing 5.6.  So, I just save the files as TIF.  That solved the problem.  Not hard, but I hope Colorbyte fixes it soon.

Hi Tom,

Ayup, that's what I do now, too, but it's a kludge that should be fixed. I'm lazy and don't want to have to remember to save my 16-bit grayscale files at TIFFs.
