Digital BW, The Print

Getting ready to install a new 1280 in my BO workflow using UT inks. 
Printer fresh out of the box. Just wanted to receive feedback on 
whether or not I should first charge the printer with the Epson inks 
included in the box and then install the UT; or go straight to the 
UT. I know this has been discussed previously but wanted to get the 
latest thoughts of the group.

You will get differing opinions on this, but I had
recently charged my 1280 with piezotones and eboni
without ill-effect.

Coincidentally,

I just asked the same question of a technical representative from 
MIS Associates. She recommended using the Epson color cartridges 
that come with the printer first, to make sure that everything is 
working okay before introducing the Ultra Tone inks.

For what it's worth ... I used UT inks from the get-go in my
"right-out-o'-the-box" 1280 with no ill effects whatsoever.
