MIS GP Inks in a 1280/1270? [slightly OffTopic]

MIS GP Inks in a 1280/1270? [slightly OffTopic]

2003-11-15 by Editor P.O.V. Image Service

I'm about to transition a 1280 that had been using Lyson Lysonics
dye-based inks over to MIS GP Pigment-based inks.. (I'm staying with
Lyson dye-based inks in my Canons but going to pigment based options on
all my EPSONs)

I'll be building my own profiles, but wondered if anyone else had tried
this combo yet and what kind of paper settings in the EPSON driver they
found to be good starting points..

Any other notes on using these inks would be welcome as well..

Hi there!

I have been using the MIS GP inks in my 1280 since july(in a CIS) and
have had real good results. I have not experienced any clogging
issues, but if I haven't printed for a few days, I'll run a nozzle
check, just to make sure. I am using the photo black, since I decided
that my color work be on gloss and semi-gloss stock. Currently, I'm
using up what is left of my brightcube stock, then I have some of the
Ilford gallerie to try. Would also like to try some of the new Moab
line. I make my profiles with Monaco software.

I'm using the MIS GP ink, with Eboni black, in a 1280 and really like
the print. I'm printing on EAM but am about to profile Moab Entrada
Fine Art. I was using the MIS UltraTone but am thinking of another
1280 for color so thought I'd refill cartridges for a while to see if
I like it. I do except for some clogging and a tendency to print a
little heavy with the ink on the heavyweight Matte setting. Maybe
another paper setting would help.
