Moderator's Announcement

2001-10-08 by Martin Wesley

At the moment I am way behind in reading the posts but I have run
across posts that were not only off topic but appear to have been
posted in an effort to be deliberately offensive to one or more
members of the group. The posters ability to post without moderation
has been suspended. They may be barred.

Please read the topic.

Please read the guidelines.

This group is and will continue to be very loose with regards to what
is on topic. In trying times like these it is expected that current
events will become a topic of conversation. Until today these have
been well meant and in good fellowship.

If you want to make political statements or have a political debate I
imagine there are many places on and off the web to do so. Please go
there.

Hello Martin...I agree with your statements about everyone
getting off the subject of digital manipulation and placing their
attention on this disturbing current event. Therefore, getting back
to the subject of ink placement in the cartridges, I wondered
whether or not anyone has tried to place the inks in their proper
place according to the corresponding shade of the colored inks.
Why has the ink companies decided to place these inks in such
a random order. Do you think it is because one has to create a
more difficult workflow to possibly buy the software. Maybe this is
true with the piezo inks, but MIS inks give their workflow for free
on their web "www.inksupply.com...Please give me some
feedback on their reasoning and if there has been anyone who
has tried repositioning the inks in the color cartridges...Thank
you...

Ink Placement in Quad systems was Re:

2001-10-08 by Martin Wesley

Grady,

I have no idea. Perhaps some of the people who have been at this
longer have an explaination. The only think that occures to me is
that they may have wanted to be sure that the lighter grey inks
always fell on top of the darker ones but this is a shot in the dark.
