My seupt is: Win XP-Photoshop 7-Epson Photo 2100/2200 1) in the printer driver main settings page there is a list of papers: normal. Glossy ,etc..I know I have to pick the one that matches the (Epson) paper I use. I cannot find any specific files referring to these paper settings anywhere. I therefore presume that they are not profiles in the accepted sense, but part of the driver software. 2) On a tip from the "Luminous Landscape" website I downloaded a set of profiles for the Photo 2100 from Epson`s Australien website. The contents of the file(4 profiles) matches exactly the media choices from the printer driver: Archival Matte-Premium Glossy- Premium Semi Glossy-Water Colour. These profiles appear in Win`s normal profile storage, as well as among the choices of the "print- with-preview" dialogue for the print space. Also these profiles have the suffixes PK and MK. What doe these suffixes stand for? 3) My usual settings (I print B&W) are in the driver: Colour-ICM- (medium)-1440/2880 dpi, and in the print with preview dialogue: Colour Management-Source: Grey Gamma 2.2-Print Space: Stylus Photo 2100/2200.Depending on the paper type the results are quite good-very good. 4) How do the Epson Profiles mentioned under (2) tie into all this? If I use them, which settings do I have to change? Or should I forget them all together? This seems hardly likely from all the discussions that are going on about various paper profiles (I am aware that the Epson profiles might not be the best.) I would really be grateul, if somebody could enlighten me. John
