Epson 7600 opinions?

Epson 7600 opinions?

2003-12-02 by sandersm@aol.com

I couple of weeks ago I posted a request for information about how Roy
Harrington's QuadToneRip behaves with the Epson 7600 (or 9600) printers, and was
greeted with deafening silence. (I made the same query on the EpsonWideFormat
group, and found the same indifference.) that meads me to think that there
are not many 7600 users on this list.

I've been happy with QTR's handling of my Epson 2200, so much so that I am
looking now to do my big prints on an Epson inkjet as well. Is anyone on this
list printing with a 7600? (Or a 9600?) If so, what are your thoughts?
And how do you control it when looking to print neutral b+w photographs? I am
anxious to hear feedback, if you have any to share.

I'm printing on a 9600 w/Imageprint. Version 5.6 of Imageprint gives you the capability to select the tone of you print with the drag of a mouse. When you tell it to print neutral, it prints dead on neutral. Although I don't use the cool tones much because I'm partial to neutral to warm tones, they are available. The ability to very predictictably produce a tone in the print, and control it in very small intervals, is really nice. I have not heard any Image print user say otherwise. It's great to be able to hit the 'print' button and KNOW what the output is going to be every time. The price, of course, ain't cheap. But, neither are the results.

I love the b&w quality from my 7600 but I'm using Image Print.
Without IP, I was not happy with the results.
