Hung my exhibit last night. One thing I learned - you know that feeling you
get when you are cutting yet another mount and it is not quite right, but
you are tired and bored with the whole affair and you think 'it'll do'? it
won't, it really really won't.

uh oh

actually I am getting better at cutting mounts but it is always dull

not your mount-cutter, though!!!

the secret to good mattes is a SHARP mount cutter!!! I change my blade after
every 3 or 4 mattes.

that's today's tip

I was cutting 25 in one go - I'll learn! I use a maped which is ok, but I'd
set myself a stupid deadline. I don't think they are THAT bad though. I just
spotted one with an edge not quite straight. My corners are now a lot better
than they were though. I think next time I'll pay someone to do the whole
job. I had the frames made for me but I thought I'd try and keep costs down.

Julian,

Sounds like time for Sangria, tapas, hot bath, bed...not necessarily in that order.

Good luck on the show.

Tried that after I'd finished hanging - I'm going through a huge anti climax
today - certainly NOT looking forward to the opening. I think I'll take my
camera for a walk...
