1160 with Epson Driver versus PiezoPlugin

I consider upgrading my Piezo plugin to the new ICC software. When the piezo plugin performed best with my 1160 (when it did not produce microbanding, etc) I was very satisfied with the result. I liked the Piezo dither also compared to the dither from the Epson driver. I have also experimented with MIS FS-N inks in my 1160 - with the John Woolf Workflow using the standard driver. It is OK but I don't like the dither produced by the Epson driver. Now when I plan using the 1160 with the PiezoICC that uses the Epson driver is my question: Would I get a better result with a newer printer? Cone plans releasing profiles and inks for Epson 2200 that prints a lot better (with a finer dither) than 1160.
