Hi, I'm using the Epson 1280, UT-2 inks from MIS and Roark's workflow to print Black and Whites. With this setup/workflow, is the Black ink position even used when printing? I ask for two reasons.. 1) if not, then I won't waste money on a bottle of black ink for refilling, since my printer will be dedicated to this setup/workflow for the foreseeable future 2) i have a clog in my black ink position that I can't get rid of for the life of me... if it's not being used, I'll just leave it alone. Thanks, Mike

Mike, >I'm using the Epson 1280, UT-2 inks from MIS and Roark's workflow to >print Black and Whites. >With this setup/workflow, is the Black ink position even used when >printing? Yes it is. The black ink must match the paper -- Eboni for matte paper and MIS Photo K for glossy/RC/Barrier paper. Paul www.PaulRoark.com

Boy, I must be lucky, then... or blind... or both. I've got an obvious clog in my black cartridge (Eboni), yet I'm getting perfect 8 x 10 prints out of the printer using your method and the UT-2 inks. the clog represents itself as the same exact "dash" missing from nozzle checks every time. I've tried and tried to unclog it, but i think i'm going to have to send her in for pro repair. My BO prints have a visible band every 1/8 inch or so. m Paul Roark wrote: > Mike, > > >I'm using the Epson 1280, UT-2 inks from MIS and Roark's workflow to > >print Black and Whites. > > >With this setup/workflow, is the Black ink position even used when > >printing? > > Yes it is.
