QTR/Epson 2200/Gamma

2004-01-14 by Neil Carpenter

I've just gotten in my MIS Ultratone ink cartridges for my Epson 2200. I've
got QTR setup under OSX 10.3, using Photoshop CS to print. All of my prints
that use Quadtone RIP are printing as if the gamma was far denser than what
I've set & what I see reflected on screen (and I've been through the Apple
calibration for the monitor, so black point/white point/gamma on the monitor
are reasonably accurate). I'm using EEM paper.

I can't seem to find what mistake I'm making & where. I'm at a loss for
troubleshooting steps.

What profiles are you using with this setup? It's important that you
use profiles that are designed for that particular inkset. The profiles
in the QTR download are all for the Epson UltraChrome inks.

Well, *that* would explain it.

I'm off to search, but a pointer to profiles for MIS UT inks would be
fabulous. Thanks, Roy!
