Old Photoshop versions

2004-01-29 by Paul Roark

I like Photoshop CS and will restrict my use and support to it and Picture
Window, which has already given away a free patch to make its software
compatible (that's what I call a responsive company).

All the 1280 curves have been re-saved with PS 7. But for the 2200, I'll
use PS CS to make the curves.

(Sorry old Photoshop folks, but I don't have the time to support old
software. There is too much to do pushing forward.)

I did a comparison between the old and the new curves... There's only a
few bytes difference. I could probably write a small script to batch
convert a bunch of curves to a compatible format.

One of the problems I have with re-saving curves in PS7 is that when I pull
up a curve and go to re-save it, PS 7 wants to save it as an "untitled" as
opposed to the name of the curve that was opened. The chance of mistake in
saving the file over the wrong one is too high. I've already wiped out one
completed curve.

So, if there is a setting in PS that puts the opened file name in the save
name box, I would not be so reluctant to go through this process.
