Digital BW, The Print

they have 3 different shades of gray in them and they blend them to 
produce smooth gray scale images.  Otherwise you need to blend color 
inks to do it (which usually produces bad color casts) or just dither 
black ink which usually has a visible dither pattern.  I have samples 
from the 7660 that look great.  I bought the printer (and then 
returned it) and didn't get such great prints.
