Ed,
I'm new to PS and all the terminology, so I can only describe generally what
I do. I deepen the black with an early point close to the start of the curve
line (see what I mean about the terminology?). Then I start with a broad
sweeping curve through the mid-tones because I find the C84 lays down a lot
of ink. I usually end with a highlight point at the max and a little left of
upper right end of the curve line. Basically, I'm adding contrast and
lightening the mid- to high-tones. I'm such a newbie, I'm not even sure if
I'm answering your question.
Cheers,
George

RE: [Digital BW] Re: EX B&W inks

Ed,

I forgot to mention that after I make a test print, I then tweak the curve
in the mid-tone areas to fine -tune things. I use EEM, but my C84 driver
doesn't have an EEM paper type, just a Heavy Weight Matte type. So I use
that.
