Using 2200 for first time

Using 2200 for first time

2004-03-07 by fredila2

Hi,

I'll be receiving my 2200 in a couple of days and would like to
confirm the approach to the ink installation.

Initially, I will use the 2200 for both color and b/w. My b/w will
be done using the "black only" method described by Clayton Jones.

I also purchased the Ultrachrome Eboni inkset and a spare Eboni
cartridge from MIS.

I intend to first try the 2200 with the original Epson inks to be
sure the printer is working properly.

Then I will install the Eboni black cartridge (in lieu of the Epson
Photo Black) and do my printing until the Epson cartridges are
exhausted.

Then I will switch to a complete set of MIS Ultrachromes.

Does this approach sound OK? Or, do I need to switch over
completely to the MIS inks after the first Epson cartridge is
exhausted. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for the help.

Seems like an ok approach. The only thing that comes to mind is you
might want to switch before the original Epson carts are empty. That
way they can be kept in reserve in case you ever need to go back to
them for some reason and won't have to buy new ones.

Clayton
