1270 not recommended for UT2

1270 not recommended for UT2

Hi Paul,
I hope you could help clarify some confusuion that I have.
I read on your website that the 1270 is not recommended for glossy
printing. Is it because of the fact that it cannot print at
2880dpi or some other reason? I mostly print from Photoshop 7,
currently own a 1280 and seriously thinking about getting a second
printer for B&W.
regards, Opus

The output I saw from a 1270 on glossy even at 1440 was not as good as that
from the 1280 at 1440. The matte output looked fine, but I thought the
glossy output was just too rough. I suspect Epson improved the dither
pattern between the 2 printers.

I got good results on the 1270 with UT2 using QuadToneRIP. I did both
matte and glossy paper profiles, but I don't use glossy very much.
