XP Pro display of greyscale files...help?

Hi Folks. Finally getting annoyed to the point where I have to ask for some help! In my XP pro Explorer browser, set to thumbnail view. All my files display fine EXCEPT greyscale 16bit TIFFs. Colour 16bit tiffs display fine. Can XP not handle the GreyGamma ICC? Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to load up CS browser everytime I need to locate a file and most of my work is B&W. Thanks Steve
