New Wilhelm data

New Wilhelm data

2004-04-02 by Carl Schofield

Just saw these new data on the Wilhelm site:
http://www.wilhelm-research.com/epson_sp4000.html
http://www.wilhelm-research.com/4x6_permanence_preview.html

Interesting that the HP #59 inks on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper was
rated at 115 years.

yes... and quite stunning b&w prints they make!

Also, I just matted up some 8x12" prints from my 7660 and the
cockling issue which seems so bad with loose prints pretty much goes
away under a mat.

In the second reference, Wilhelm's rather mediocre-to-poor fade rates
for dye-sub
prints ought to quiet the claims made by many dye-sub advocates
who--without
supporting
data--have often asserted they have outstanding fade resistance.
Kodak's Easy Share
dye sub seems to be the exception (i.e., has pretty good stability).
