Re: [Digital BW] Using Eboni Black with Original VM Inkset?

Sorry Howard.. You WILL need to get a new empty black cart (assuming you are using a CIS/CFS)..EBONY is NOT comaptible with the "old" MIS Black..Other than that and flushing your lines, you should have no problems..I'm using the VMS "SEPIA" set with paul Roark's curves, and I'm having no problems adjusting to the Ebony.. Subject: [Digital BW] Using Eboni Black with Original VM Inkset?
Hi, all:
I haven't been doing much black and white printing the last 2 years
or so. I have been busy with work, and with our baby. I am getting
back into it and need to order some new inks. I'm still using an
Epson 1200, which still prints great (when it's not clogged) with the
original VM inkset. I'm tempted to use the Eboni black instead of
the VM black when I reorder. Should the same curves still work? Any
other reasons why I should just stay with the original blacks? As I
read the MIS website, I don't need to flush out the old VM black
because it's pure pigment and there should be no incompatibility with
Eboni -- correct? Thanks for your help. Howard
