UT Ebony and 2200

2004-04-08 by andy-j1959@mchsi.com

I just got an ebony cartridge to use in my black position for black
only prinitng. The 2200 does not recognize it and I cannot seem to
bypass the screen that forced me to put the right cartride in. I am
sure this is not complicated, but I am not seeing how to get past
this. How can I use this cartige in the black postiion for BO
printing?

My 2200 has always recognized the Eboni cart (I use # ARC-T0348-K).
You might try opening the Preferences window, go to the Maintenance
Tab, click the Printer and Option Information button, and select Matte
Black in the Cartridge Option box. Good luck.

Clayton

The ARC-T3047-QUT is Eboni in a cartridge chipped for the light black
black ink slot and is only for use with the entire UT inkset and a RIP.
You cannot use it for BO printing with the Epson driver.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to add this to article where it
recommends Eboni.

that's weird. i use a 2200 with the eboni ink and it
works fine. i'd try restarting your computer and
then(make sure the printer is on) delete the 2200 from
your printer list and then add it. I've had trouble
when changing from matte to the regular black with the
old inks and that worked for me. if that doesn't work,
delete then add the printer and then restart your
computer.
good luck!

Hi Julie, it was the restart that did it. Simply deleting and adding was not solving the
problem. So, delete, restart, add was a good formula.

Thank you and to the others who helped me with this!
