Running sheets through 2200 twice for BO & color base

Running sheets through 2200 twice for BO & color base

2004-04-12 by HPA

Hello, my question is about reproducing old maps. Can I scan an old blank
piece of yellowed paper in RGB and print it on a 2200, then run the sheet
through the printer again to print a map over it in BO? Anyone have
experience or warnings? Thanks

You should have no problems, especially since making a piece of paper
yellowish only puts a tiny bit of ink on it, so drying time isn't an issue.
I haven't done exactly that, but I frequently print multiple test prints on
the same paper, where the print head passes over a previously printed area.

Of course, in most photo editors, it's pretty easy to do that with layers.

I think if you try on matte paper it may work, but when I have tried on
semi or gloss the ink smears.

I do it on semi-gloss, and it works for me. Since I'm making test prints, I
generally don't get around to making the second print until the first one
has had a few minutes to dry. Maybe it's less humid here.
