What cuts archival inks/pigments?

What cuts archival inks/pigments?

2004-04-19 by lulalake_1999

Hi folks,

I was wondering what solvents work on waterproof archetypal inks and
pigments?

I am making some "alternative" type prints. It involves transferring
the image from an inkjet printed image onto different types of
material, cloth, archival papers etc.
It works well however I am limited to non archival prints at the
moment and only need water. I wish to do these prints rather largeish
which will require a really wide printer. The prints will be 30
something inches wide and up to 10 feet long (Panoramas).

I need to get a solvent that will cut the types of inks that these
printers use. I would appreciate any input about solvents for these
types of inks or pigments. Will alcohol work?

(I was going to say that I'll use Tequila on a sunrise shot but I
decided not to)

Thanks loads folks.

Jules

The Epson 2200 will print on damn near anything. So why not print
it directly?
