Thoughts and questions on C-84

2004-04-21 by Don

Well, broke down and bought a C-84 to try with the MIS EZ BW.

Hmmmm. When I print on the suggested Plain Paper setting and Best
Photo on EEM, I get visible banding. When I switch the setting to HWM
the banding goes away. Printing on Lumijet Oyster with the Glossy
Paper setting looks rather promising.

My major annoyance is feeding the paper thru the machine. Is there
some kind of secret code or something to get the paper to feed
straight rather than at an angle??? I have never had any problem like
this on my Epson 2200. Any tips would be appreciated.

Don,

The C84 I have does not band with the "Plain Paper" setting and feeds the
paper straight with no fiddling around.

I hope your experience is not the norm. I'd try to replace it.

Don,

be the machine. My C84 feeds like a "straight arrow" not a "broken" one. I
don't get banding on the "plain paper" setting (or any setting). Only time I
get banding is on the first test print after it's been sitting for a several
days. Then I do nozzle cleans and it goes away.

Cheers,
George

-I have also just bought a C84. So far I am very pleased with the
results. I am using Epson Premium Glossy with the paper setting on
DURABrite Photo Paper. No banding, no paper feed problems, no
complaints yet but its early days. Thanks for the advice Andre if you
read this. Steve Harrison.-- In
