paper suggestions

2004-04-25 by byushooter

I usually use photo rag or other fine art papers for my standard
papers when printing b/w using piezo inks. But I am in the process
of digitizing some old photographs and would like to put together a
scrapbook/album. Any suggestions on a paper with a more durable
surface than photo rag but that is archival? These prints will be
in an album with interleaving sheets but not behind clear
protectors. I like enhanced matte but have read where the paper can
yellow rather quickly.

Thanks for your help,

Jenny

Hello Jenny,

I've begun using Merlin Smooth (Hawk Mtn) and am impressed with its
looks, and it also seems real tough. It's hard to tear, and the
smooth surface seems durable (I haven't actually tested for this, but
haven't had any flaking so far). I thinks it's worth getting some
samples for a try.

Regards,
Clayton
