Hey Clayton and other BO 2200 users

2004-04-27 by Joe Dempsey

I loaded up my first cart of Eboni in my 2200 and ran a couple of
prints which were marginal. I presume that I'll need to run a few
more on cheap paper to purge the Epson Matte Black from the
system ... plus a head cleaning? I have profiled my monitor with a
Spyder and pretty well get WYSIWYG with color. Given that on the
profile setting, I selected that profile for the print in lieu
of "same as source." Did I blow it doing that? Or what? I've seen
results of BO with Eboni on this site and others and they look
spectacular. Per BO scripture, I set the paper setting for EEM, ink
at BO and high-resolution. Any advice is appreciated. Your compatriot
from LA (lower Arkansas),
Joe

BTW, I ran one print (the first) on some Epson Double Sided Matte and
the second on Somerset (?) I ordered from MIS when I ordered the ink.
J.

Hard for me to say because I don't know how such a profile would
affect BO output. If you have read my article about using profiles,
you may remember that the printer profile acts in an opposite manner
as the image profile, which is why "Same As Source" is such an
important concept in BO printing. Only way to know for sure is make a
print with each setting and compare them.

Regards,
Clayton
