Paul - C84, MIS, and Gamma

2004-05-20 by Scott Harris

Hi Paul,

My MIS inks arrived yesterday and I'm about to start printing
tonight... however, in reviewing the MIS instructions (on the
webpage) for printing with the C84, each of the print dialogue boxes
show a gamma setting of 1.8 instead of 2.2. The snapshots appear to
be from the Windows version of the epson driver so I'm a little
confused.

Which do you recommend - 1.8 or 2.2?

Scott

Scott,

My Windows C84 driver shows a default gamma of 1.8, which is what I used.
The idea was to have the settings be as "default" as possible.

If you are on a Mac and it uses 2.2, give that a try and see who they look.
I'd just try things and see what happens.

Okay, I'll try it on 1.8 - but I thought windows Gamma default was
2.2 and mac was 1.8? I guess epson set the driver - even though
it's a windows driver - for the mac setting...
