Re: [Digital BW] PhotoRag Pricing? Mistake on Price? CompetitivePrices?
2001-10-20 by Steadman Uhlich
If that is the case, then the "mistake" was made in the department or by the person that determines their retail prices...in other words, they have priced themselves at a point where the competition will get the business. That happens in businesses too, especially those that handle lots of products, have ecommerce competitiors (lower overhead) and have just introduced a new product. Of course, it may also be a business decision...one to carry the product at a higher price than the "house" brands...prompting visitors to see the house brand as a better value. The risk of doing that in the ecommerce world of the internet is that the sharing of price information via forums is so quick and easy that the "market" can swing to another supplier quickly and a customer base can evaporate. A posting on a forum is somewhat like the old "blue light" at Kmart and can draw the buyers to another product or supplier...quickly. Steadman
