CFS installation - reversible?

CFS installation - reversible?

2004-06-04 by Richard Smallfield

Hello,
I'm considering installing a CFS into my 1200 - the thing is that it's really on long-term loan from a friend and I wondered if, should he want it back one day, the printer could be restored to its original state?

PS - I've just updated my website images, esp the portraits. Please feel free to comment and criticise so I can learn.

thanks,
Richard

You should have no problem converting back to the printers original state. Just save the
two cart covers in a safe place. When time comes pull out CFS carts and purge ink heads
with windex and a small tube. Then install a new set in Epson carts and covers.

Depending on the ink you might just be able to install the Epson inks and run a few
cleaning cycles and forgo the Windex purge.

Actually I'm about to just do that now with my 1160 as I just put it up on eBay.

Hi Richard:

I had a CFS, but decided I wanted to print both B&W and Unichrome
color on my 1280. So yes you can take a cfs out, however to
reinstall it you would need a new cartridge head (and watch the air
in the tubes). I think mine was from Media Street and a new cart.
was about $60 or so.

I like it, but really like the versatility that carts give me, and
now that I have a good system for filling them no need for the CS.
Where you save is on the bulk ink.
