Epson 4000 - atkinson profiles & gray balancer

Epson 4000 - atkinson profiles & gray balancer

2004-06-24 by brinkker2000

Hi,
I finally got my 4000 and will be doing a few tests. Has anyone tried
the atkinson profiles with the 4000 and how did they work as compared
to the standard profiles for B&W and color?

Also, I understand you can use the gray balancer w/ the 4000 and was
wondering if you can get a bit more neutrality i.e. with this
tool...?
Thanks!
Steve

Atkinson's profiles are only for the 7600 and 9600 - they will not work on the 4000 as the
hardware is differnet and the Epson driver is lays ink down differently than the 7-9600
driver. As a far as the gray balancer...forget it!

John-

I found the Epson profiles pretty decent for Epson papers, but way
off for everything else. I added an Image Print license to my dongle
and I'm really happy with the results.

Being limited to Epson papers isn't the end of the world, by the
way...there are 17 inch rolls of UltraSmooth Fine Art available and
that is a fabulous paper.

I think you will see considerable improvement from the 2200 Epson
profiles without much tweaking at all.

cheers,

Tom O'Connell
