Generation Ink for Black Only?

Generation Ink for Black Only?

2004-07-25 by normsams

Has anyone worked with the Generation Enhanced G4 Pigmented Black ink for
black only printing? I'm also wondering how the Generation color set works
out. (Epson 1280 printer). Thanks in advance from Norm.

I used the Gen4 K before Eboni came out. I rate Eboni #1, Gen4 K as #2.

The "Enhanced" indicates a 25% dye content. The fade tests are not in the
same league with the newest 100% pigment blacks, which for matte papers
include MIS Eboni, Epson UC Matte black, and PiezoTone Museum.

Yeah, the G4 K is a pretty good black, and I like the G4 colors ok
too, but since the G4 K is pigmented, I think at about 25 percent, I
use the G4 colors together with the MIS-QSEP-K in an 1160. I don't
know whether Eboni can be used with the the G4 color inks or not.
