Bookmarks: New resources for our group

2001-08-08 by antonisphoto@yahoo.com

Hello all;

I took the initiative to add some bookmarks to our group (see menu to the left),
beginning with photographers' sites that I have recently visited and that I know
are involved in digital BW printing.

Please review and bring to my attention the many I left out, or the mistakes I
have made in spelling or expired URLs.

The next stage would be to add paper related resources. I will let you know.

Antonis,

Thanks for getting this up and going. I have a few photographers
sites to add to the list.

Group Members,

I also want to let everyone know that the "Bookmarks" are set so that
members can read and use them, but only Antonis and myself can add or
delete them. This is simply to keep someone from accidentally
deleting an entire folder or something else disastrous.

We do want your input and really need your help on building the
resources side of the group. If you have a set of bookmarks you would
like to put up or an information sheet to go in the Files section,
just send it to either of us and we can put it up for you.

Thanks,

Martin Wesley

Antonis, I really think that you should have a link to Dan Culberton's pages here. Actually, assuming it's ok with him, I'd say
it's a must.

Dan,

would you consider adding a text file to your ftp root directory (the one the link
goes to) by way of introducing your methods and point people to what's what?
More like an introduction to a book, kind of thing. I think it would be helpful,
since there isn't the usual "page" look to navigate. Great resource, by the way,
and thanks for letting us add it to the bookmarks!!

I have a question myself: What instrument did you take the Lab readings with?
I am doing some of the same and for all these numbers to make sense we
would need to know the variables given to the spectrophotometer before the
reads.

Probably not the right spelling. Coined by Allen, apparently you have a cult, and I am an unwitting member. I thought it was
funny...

Thanks Dan. That will help make our numbers compatible. I use the exact
same instrument/software.

Sure -- sort of a "read-me" file to explain what is in the folders etc.?
One of these days (I keep promising myself) I will do an html page to do
that.

All of the measurements were made with an X-Rite Digital Swatchbook using
the X-Rite ColorShop software. Almost certain the reference light was set
to D50 and the measurements were made with absolute reflective, status T.

Oh yeah -- now I remember. That was the little grayscale worship group I
started down in Waco. Thought they moved on to flying saucers? :-)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
