I have two Epsom 2200 printers running emson's color inks. In the two years I have own them I have not had any serous head clogging problems, now both printers are clogged. No matter what I do I can't clear the heads. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Be kind...and thanks!!-sm > Steven, Lots of options for you but assuming you are getting your negs scanned and into Photoshop okay, do the following: - You don't say if you are on a MAC or PC, but the best thing to do would be to download Quadtone RIP from <http://harrington.com/QuadToneRIP.html>. - If on a PC, go to the XP page and download from there. - Install the RIP. - Scan your negs as you normally do and bring them in to Photoshop as you normally do. Then... - ASSIGN the QTR Linear Gray profile - Crop, spot, curves, levels, etc. as you normally would. Re-size as you normally would to the correct ppi for output to your printer and image size for size of print you want. - Final step before you save and print the output file is to CONVERT the image to QTR Matte Gray if you are printing with matte black ink (MK) on matte paper. - Or CONVERT to QTR Photo Gray if you are printing with photo black ink (PK) on semi-gloss or gloss paper. - I work on a PC so once I have done this, I save this file as my print file, uncompressed TIFF. - You can then drag this image file to your QTR Gui interface and QTR will print the image. Select a warm and cool curve from the drop-down box and you can play with different percentages to get the type of print you want, cool, neutral or warm. - If you're on a MAC, I believe you can "print normally" from within Photoshop. But I haven't done that since I don't have a MAC. Have fun. I think you will find with QTR that you can get excellent, neutral output with the standard OEM Ultrachrome ink set. Many people have done the steps above and have reported they can get a neutral print with the 2200 shortly after installing QTR. Start with EEM paper and the EEM cool and warm curves. Set the slider to 70% cool and see what you get. Paul
