I'm not sure I entirely agree with the new Tri-X being flatter, but that
might be more because of lack of testing of the old one (I didn't really
"do" testing when I first started out in B&W) than anything else. I am
shooting it at a slightly lower EI than I used to (I've been leaning
towards 250 rather than the 320 I used to shoot with) and have had to
decrease development time a tad to compensate. But I don't otherwise feel
the film is flatter.
I haven't had to modify development times by much, and using the old times
is a great starting point.
