EZ Glossy Prints On C84

EZ Glossy Prints On C84

2004-08-31 by sl91911

I am trying again to get an answer on this post.
Neutral prints with C84, EZ inks from MIS on Epson Premium Glossy,
using Epson Glossy, Best Photo, and adjusting the sliders will not
give prints where the dark greys match thise on the screen. The prints
are simply too light. It is not the printer- two C84s give nearly
identical results. The prints are acceptable and without metamerism,
but not as good as an R800 glossy (although the R800 prints have
metamerism).
 Has anyone encountered this ?
Are prints using Epson Matte papers with the C84 & EZ inks too light ?
A reply would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a C84 set up this way just now, but one way to darken the
prints is to use the "No Color Adjustment" setting. In the "Color
Management" section of the driver, hit "ICM" first, then the "No Color
Adjustment" option appears. You lose the sliders with this setting.

You might also consider adjusting the monitor to match the prints. With the
Photoshop preview feature, this can be done relatively easily. See
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/Monitor-Profiling.htm . I set up a function
key so that every time I open a grayscale file I just hit the function key
and the image on the monitor matches what the printer will make.

Hope this is useful.
