Time for a new parinter

Time for a new parinter

2004-09-07 by Steve Schaefer

My 1160 finally died and It's time for a new printer. I have
been out of the
loop for more then a year. I was quit happy with the 1160 the MIS
inks I was
using, and I have not keep up on the new technologies.

Before I go out and buy a 2200 and try and get the QuadToneRIP to
work I
should ask this question:

If you were going to buy a printer in the next 6 months and you would
like to
be able to print both BW and color, what printer would you buy?

Thanks

Steve

I just bought a new printer 30 days ago. And I bought another 1280
just like the one I had. My eyeball, from a lot of b&w print
exchanges, tells me that nothing prints better. Technology and specs
be damned, my only motivation is to generate the best prints by the
easiest way.

Once more "what is this paper, really"

2004-09-08 by Douglas Meeuwsen

I check this the list a little bit ago, and am trying again. What is
the lumijet "radiant white rag-enhanced" 290 gsm also known as? I
suspect it may be epson velvet enhanced radiant white. It works very
well for me. I just got some more, and it came with a free box of
lumijet museum parchment. My first test print that is coming out of my
1280 right now looks awesome. WOW. I think this is the best print i
have ever made. You can see the texture in the image, but with this
image of an elegantly appointed interior, It looks great. Anybody know
what this paper is? I am asking about both lumijet "radiant
white-enhanced" and "museum parchment-enhanced". It is kind of
thin.(210 gsm) The price was reasonable. 24 dollars for 20 sheets of
EACH at our local store. Both say they are optimised for pigment inks.
I use the MIS UT2.

Doug,

I Guess This Email Is Meant For Me! So Here Goes..
lumijet "radiant white rag-enhanced" 290 gsm = Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 Only
a Little Thinner..
lumijet museum parchment = Hahnemuhle Torchon 285 Only Thinner

As The Saying Goes The Papers are Thinner and The Coatings are a Hair
Different Than The Regular Hahnemuhle Line Up..

Luminos/Lumijet are Now Owned By Hahnemuhle..

Questions Feel Free To Call Me Anytime...

You have a generous and inclusive attitude about business Jim, I hope
what goes around comes around in the long run.
Signups are happening, but just some from the list notice so far. Our
major crowd will be from locals who don't know from lists, and they
have yet to get their invites.
Soon... soon...
...and you're up too late again.
