unclogging 1280 print heads

unclogging 1280 print heads

2004-09-10 by bbiess

I've got a new 1280 loaded with UT2 (Eboni) that I've regrettably not
used for a couple of months. Since I've finally had the opportunity
to scan a bunch of negs, I'd now like to print them, however, all but
one of the print heads are printing VERY faintly (if at all) on the
Nozzle Check print. I expected this would be the case and now need to
undergo a good head cleaning.

I've checked the archives for the proper way to clean my 1280's print
heads, however, I didn't find anything. Does anyone know of a doc
that lists head cleaning instructions and techniques?

What steps should I do in what order? Any help is greatly
appreciated!

Regards,
  B2

When I got my first set of UT2 cartridges from MIS I had to run about
6-7 clean cycles. You can do it from the printer properties dialog, or
hold down the 'Ink Change' button on the printer for 3 seconds to
induce a head cleaning (the one with the black and color droplets with
down arrows above them).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
