Whether, for example, the word "Exxon" in "Exxon Premium Unleaded" is a brand-name or trademark is an entirely separate issue than whether "Exxon" is a separate legal entity. Many trademarks and brand names are held by companies and corporations with unrelated names.. In fact, "Piezography" is a registered trademark of Cone Editions Press. Which IS in Chapter 11. Of course, that trademark could be licensed to "Piezography Limited" Why the confusion? Because Cone's own pages have been seemingly contradictory on this fact. Check his old Piezography contact page at: http://tinyurl.com/5cutx Note where it says: "Piezography® brand inkjet printing software and archival supplies are developed exclusively by Piezography, Ltd."? In fact, "Piezography Ltd" had a booth and a press kit at PMA in 2003. http://www.steves-digicams.com/pr/piezographybw_pma2003_pr.pdf Now try the current Piezo contact page at: http://www.piezography.com/contact.html It says: "Piezography® is a Registered Trademark of Cone Editions Press, Ltd." A similar change is seen at: <http://www.inkjetmall.com/store/bw/piezobwicc/piezographybwicc-faqs.html> Where it formerly said "Piezography, Ltd. Revamps Its Popular..." It now says: "Piezography Revamps Its Popular... " Of course, if you KNOW the answer to my question Steve, please feel free to share. With inkjet storefronts, OEMs, and Jon in particular, I long ago learned not to assume anything. That's not a swipe at Jon, what it is, is a statement of fact regarding how convoluted: businesses, rebranding, trademark, and brand name can become. And once again, you are still avoiding the question.
answer the question Jon.
"Is Piezography Limited a separate legal entity (i.e. a company,
partnership, sole-proprietorship, or corporation)?"

Never a flawless speller, I frequently have to turn to the dictionary to find out how I can be misspelling some familiar word I thought I knew. It also alerts me to typos. (Now, see, I would have thought "typoes" would have been more correct; but it likes "typos".) It may be a final bastion of safeguarding at least one aspect of literacy which contemporary usage seems bent on destroying, although it isn't smart enough to catch wrong usage: "its" , "it's"; "to", "too","two"; "their", "there", and "they're" are all spelled correctly, but frequently misused to the temorary misdirection of meaning. One has to realize what the writer meant to say. James

But in reference to Jon's original comment, "And how important good proof-reading and copy editing are!", I don't think a spell checker would help much. You don't produce pdfs that are press packs for Piezography Limited accidentally. http://tinyurl.com/3qz7m and http://tinyurl.com/6qxvd Steve's Digicams didn't just independently report on "Piezography Limited." The pages might be believable, the rest isn't. If no such entity exists Jon could easily end this by saying "no such entity as Piezography Limited existed, nor does it exist, nor have I ever participated in attempting to setup such an entity at any time hitherto." Given the fact that for years, Jon represented Piezo BW as a self-developed product wholly owned by Cone Editions, he even claimed authorship in news pieces - when as I understand it, it was simply a licensed product with his brand name tacked on, the onus is on Jon to be up front, not on others to prove elsewise. Keith, It's time to move on with this. There's more important things in life to worry about. John V.
