An Odd Request

An Odd Request

2001-10-31 by Daren Maranya

I wonder if some kind soul would care to let me try the Piezo driver.
I'm a student and would be interested in saving up to buy the Piezo
drivers and curves, but could never do this blindly (as the cost is
nearly my whole monthly budget for food!). I know it sounds a bit
weird, but I'm really getting into Quad printing and I would to just try
some new software!

You would have my word that I would buy the product if satisfied and
discard it if not.

Cheers,
Daren M.

Not only weird, but illegal. I don't believe Piezo is shareware either.

Darren, ask Piezo for samples, or maybe someone would do a print from one of
your scans for you. The software isn't any good for evaluation without the
inks.

Might be wierd, illegal and many other things. As for "shareware" I
know it is not. But does it hurt to ask?

I have the MIS FS inkset, and from what I understand the systems are
compatable. Right?
The sample idea is a good one, I'll try it!

Happy Halloween!!

Darren

Why not ask the college to spend their money on a kit - maybe the college
could get a good deal out of IJM???

Nij,

It's another great suggestion, but there's not a chance. I'm at CU
Boulder and the Fine Arts Dept. is drastically under funded. There is
no "digital lab" to speak of, so the first (unlikely) step would be to
get a computer for photo students to use. To put it in perspective they
don't even supply PAPER TOWELS to students.

Needless to say I am thinking of attending another school in the winter.
