Epson 300 Inks and workfolw

Epson 300 Inks and workfolw

2004-10-17 by Glenn Barry

I'm ready to convert my 3000 to B&W.

Paul Roark was kind enough to make recommendations of either MIS ut FS
or MIS UT FSN.

Can anyone else out there let me know if they are using these inks and
what therir workflow is.

I'm also considering converting the 1200 to B&W and wondering if I can
manage an overlap with the inks for the 3000 and the 1200, with the 1200
being either variable tone or Neutral.

Do I need to use QTRip and QTRGui?

Are ink profiles available for the 3000 and the 1200 under QTRGui?

Also I would like to get some colour inks for my 1200 (considring it), I
remember someone was using Lyson Fotonics, if my mmemory serves
correctly, but I'm not positive. I had saved the post, but my hard drive
went belly up and I lost a lot of past mail.

Lastly, I'd like to know if anyone is mixing their own cleaning carts,
again I'm sure a formula was mentioned, which I saved in a mail, long
lost...so if someone could help I'd appreciate it.

Any recommendations and opinions welcomed.

Thanks

Glennn

That could have been me. Yes I use Fotonics with my 1200 and would not have it any other
way. I can print on matte and glossy paper and get excellent results. You need profiles
made for sure. For glossy/pearl paper I use Ilford's Classic papers as the latest 2200 Epson
papers are not compatable with the Fotonics. Use any matte paper you like.

Hi Jim,

Do you buy your inks in pre-filled carts, or bottles?

Where do you buy them from?

I'd like to use bottles and a CIS.

Thanks

Glenn

I use bottles with a CIS.

Purchased mine from inkjetgoodies.com

This link below is for the bottles at $17.00 each.

http://tinyurl.com/3v6dt

Also check out http://www.inkjetart.com/ for CIS. They sell Fotonics but at $25.00 per
bottle.

I would recomend MIS' CFS as I have one and it's built very well.
