Problem

Problem

2004-10-27 by Zac Lohrenz

Hi,
First, I am having a problem...
I have a Lexar SD Memory card reader, and a Lexar Card, and I plug
them both into my USB port. When I go to removeable drive F, it says
please insert disk. What is wrong???

All my printers and everything work (they are by USB too). And this
reader/card both worked last week, now they dont.

I know it isnt either the card or reader, because I took the card to
walmart to get prints made since this didnt work, and it read it
fine. So I tried again, and it still cant. And the reader is about a
week old, and worked a few days ago.

What is wrong?

Email me at zacdl@... thanks.

Zac

Hi Zac,
Seems like the reader isn't working. Even though it worked a few days ago it may have died.

Zac

I've had a similar problem. Solved by unplugging the USB and then
replugging (with the card in the reader). HTH

QTR calibration mode on Epson 4000

2004-10-28 by Bill Morse

I am trying to make new QTR profiles for the 4000, starting from the inkload
calibration. But when I try to print in QTR calibration mode, the printer
just prints in color.

Can this be done on the 4000? How were the profiles that come with v2.1
done?

Thanks,

I haven't tried QTR yet on a printer with color inks, but I'll make a
stab at this anyway.

You should see all the color inks represented in the calibration/ink
limit test prints because you will use some or, if you like, all the
inks in your curves to get the color of b&w that you want. I suppose
you will turn off the yellow ink in your qtr curves to avoid the
metamerism of the yellow, but you will likely want a little bit of
cyan and magenta to go along with the black and light black inks.

The more I think about this, making curves with the color inks involved
may take a bit of trial and error to get the color right. I'm finding
this hard to articulate in writing so I'll stop now before I confuse
things further.
