QTR crashing and other weird behavior

Yesterday I posted about problems I was having with Qimage and QTR. I now believe that Qimage was working properly all along, but that it was QTR which was giving me grief. I say this because throughout this whole episode, every time I opened up the TIF output file in PSCS it always was of the proper dimensions and orientation. Last night when I tried this again imagetoraster.exe crashed on me, and it appears that the print job would sometimes stop printing in the middle of the operation, leaving my 2200 in a weird state. I've had problems with QTR ever since I started using it about 5 or 6 weeks ago. When I first started using QTR I began having problems with paper feeding issues on my 2200. Everyone here on this board seemed to believe that the problem wasn't QTR. I don't think that assesment was correct. I called Epson and they suggested deleting and reinstalling their print driver, which I did. Afterwards I stopped using QTR and didn't have a single print misfeed or error for 3 weeks until I started using QTR again earlier this week. Now that I've been trying to get this BW print done for the past few days I've become increasingly frustrated with the whole process. I've had at least 5 or 6 paper misfeeds, I've not been able to get my image whole image printed with QTR. And last night to cap it all off there was another paper misfeed problem where the paper wan't pulled through and the printer began spraying ink all over the place mucking up the guides and rollers. Now I'm sure there's gonna be a bunch of people saying "I've never had that problem, you must be doing something wrong or somethings wrong with your printer or computer." While I may be doing something wrong with respect to QTR, I seriously doubt that there is anything wrong wiht my computer or printer. I've been using both successfully printing from within PSCS since May of this year. In that time I've never had a paper misfeed, nor had any problems at all printing except when using QTR. I've printed color images successfully with Qimage 4 or 5 times also. I'm running Win XP sp2, and using the Windows version of QTR and QTR gui. My computer is already networked, and my 2200 is connected directly to the machine I'm printing from on a share called Quad2200. I do have a linux machine running here also. Is the linux version of QTR more stable/mature than the Windows version? Would I be less likely to run into problems if I went through the hassle of connecting the 2200 to the linux machine and running QTR from there? Please advise. Derek
