"NOT" Piezo Complaining FOR: JeffM

Jeff,

It is too bad you had a bad experience...or lack of good experience...to make you happy.

I think the IJM site is the very informative and balanced. And I think for a Newbie, it is the best system available because of its ease of use. Of course some people find even the easiest things difficult...that is to be expected too.

As for PiezoBW being a "miracle"....well it sure seems that way to me...at least for PC technology.

I am astonished at the beauty of the finished prints, time and time again...and even more astonished that those prints come from such inexpensive technology and materials.

Of course there may be people who have glitches with software, clogs in printers, or problems using the papers (including sometimes something as simple as using the right side of a coated paper). That is life....using any technology...and...no matter the cost.

As for cost, even if you spent $50,000 on an IRIS system, I doubt you or anyone else would find 100% uptime, 100% perfect prints everytime, or 100% satisfaction. Nor would you find 100% agreement from the IRIS users of what constitutes an Ideal print or the proper color or etc...

As for your expectations that were so easily turned to a "major disappointment" perhaps you should try again with different expectations. And follow the directions and use the papers recommended (e.g. not glossy papers) and read the forum for helpful tips and also read the IJM for helpful tips (there are plenty) and...so on and so on.

Good things rarely come as easy as they do with Piezo.

Good luck next time,
Steadman

I think the problem with Cone is:

If you are a Newbie and just go to the IJM website, Piezography is
touted as miracle. There is noting on the web site to indicate many of
the products limitations / shortcomings. So you order the expensive
starter kit and buy a dedicated printer with very high expectations.
Once you get the kit and fire it up... if you run in to problems, you
start reading and searching through the Piezography list. On that list
is where Cone & Co. make there disclosures of the shortcomings /
limitations of the product / process. It is a set up for potential major
disappointment... hence customer dissatisfaction in some cases.

That was my experience.. and that is my 2 cents.
