Epson 2200 Newbie Seeks Startup Help

Epson 2200 Newbie Seeks Startup Help

2004-11-15 by Jim Travisano

Hi--

I've been working in Photoshop for several years and printing with
several different Canon printers. I was pleased with the color
prints--whichwas the vast majority of my work. Lately, I've been
moving more and more inthe direction of b&w. I like the results I
see on the screen. But the Canon printers (i9900, S820, etc.) create
a variety of colors casts that I'm not too pleased with.

After a fair amount of research, I broke down and just ordered an
Epson 2200, which will be used exclusively for b&w. printing. I'd
love any advice on getting started in b&w with this printer,
including your experience with inks, paper, settings, etc.

Thanks!

Get QTR and you are set. Even better with QTRGui.

QTR: http://harrington.com/QuadToneRIP.html

QTRGui: http://www.sbillard.org/Shareware/QTRgui.htm

I think a dedicated B&W inkset has a number of advantages. See my Readme on
the MIS UT 7 inkset at http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/UT-2200-Readme.htm.
