piezo v ms fs

piezo v ms fs

2001-11-06 by Julian Thomas

I've just received a copy of the Piezo stair image from Hap printed on EAM
on a 1280 - I don't know what profile, but it was a straight print without
adjustments. I printed a copy of the same thing on EAM/ EAM profile on my
1160 using piezo. Here is what I see. In the black areas of the stairs,
slightly more detail in piezo, but FS is 'blacker'. This is so close though
as to be easily tweaked in curves. The metal stairs in the mis look
brighter, same amount of detail. The look and colour of the prints on EAM is
identical. I guess if you want to replicate piezo with this you can. The
colour is totally different from what i've seen of other MIS inks.
Thanks Hap!

Julian,
I used the EAM profile and there were no adjustments in that print.
I usually use custom dot gain to lighten and bring detail out of the
shadows but that print was done without it.
