QTR for Wins plus AV

QTR for Wins plus AV

2004-12-01 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
I'm concerned about running QTR on my Windows PC when, in order to make it work, I have to disable Norton AV by stopping it loading in MsConfig.

Using QTR requires the use of 'file and printer sharing', which was a concern, until I found that Zone Alarm could still be used with QTR running.

I'd like to hear any workarounds that people have found, to allow AV software to be used while using QTR.

Final questions: in the curves, what do OFB and PFA stand for?

thanks,
Richard

I run norton anti-virus and leave it on while I use QTR.
Are you using XP or 2000?

If you send me some private mail I may be able to help you
troubleshoot your issue.

regards
Brentley

What happens when Norton AV runs? I have it running constantly and have not
problems with QTR.

OFB: Oriental Fibre
PFA: Premier Fine Art (also Hahnemuhle Papers)

The message saying QTR printing appears but then disappears.

I am running XP, BTW.

thanks,
Richard

Are any log files created when this happens? If so, what is in them. I'm
running XP SP2, but I had no problems before I upgraded from SP1.

[Digital BW] QTR with UT1 on a 1280

2004-12-02 by Keith Douglas

Has anyone made QTR curves (.quad) for the 1280 using original UT inks, not
UT2? (For EEM preferably). I can't find any in either the windows or
Linux distributions, and I cannot seem to open the OSX distribution.

I recently installed QTR and am very excited about the
possibilities (after having spent a great deal of time and effort tweaking
the Roark curves for my particular printer). I'm eagerly awaiting the
curve-creation tools to be released for Windows.

Thanks,
Keith
